SKI DAY Skin Saving Secrets

SKI DAY Skin Saving Secrets

Living at elevation and being mountain lovers ourselves, we’ve learned a thing or two about keeping our skin protected from Park City’s harsh air while playing outside. We’ve narrowed it down to four essential products that everyone needs to enjoy the great outdoors.

First things first: sunscreen. Even if it’s a cloudy start to the day, you can never predict if the sun will make an appearance or not, so we are always sure to start the morning with sun protection. One of our favorites is the Superscreen Daily Moisturizer SPF 40 from Supergoop! This cream is the perfect base for our routine, delivering lightweight moisture plus a hefty dose of sun protection that melts into our skin seamlessly. PSA: DO NOT FORGET YOUR LIPS! Liberally swipe on (and keep in your jacket pocket) Supergoop!’s SPF30 Lip Shield, which repairs chapped lips and keeps them protected from the sun.

And while Utah’s low humidity levels mean for great powder days, it can also wreck havoc on your skin barrier. We prevent this by using best selling Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Ski Cream, which is an ultra rich cream that provides a barrier between your skin and the harsh elements of cold, dry air and wind and snow.

And finally, don’t forget your hands, which are exposed to the elements every time you take your gloves off, and can be dry and irritated by the end of the day. Generously rub in a dime sized amount of Augustinus Bader’s Hand Treatment with TFC8 before you head out the door for superior moisture to replenish and protect your skin.

That’s it. Four hero products to keep your mind off of your skin and focused on your great powder turns instead. Now go get some! See you on the hill.
